Position the barrette as close as you can to the bottom of the hair, while still allowing the teeth to latch on to the braided or twisted portion of hair. Any hair that extends beyond the bottom of the barrette should simply be folded back up into the barrette before snapping shut. This will give you the nice clean look.

While wearing Bead Barrettes® at the bottom of braided hair is the most popular style for younger girls, Bead Barrettes® can be worn at the bottom or middle of braided or twisted hair! With the use of an elastic band, it can be worn on straight hair styles too - not just braids and twists.

Each daycare center has its own policy, but we've received several reports from customers stating that Bead Barrettes® are allowed at their child's daycare center whereas traditional beads are not.

Each pack of Bead Barrettes® includes 20 barrettes. Each barrette resembles a stack of 7 pony beads, so each pack is the equivalent of 140 beads! Each pack also includes one barrette opener.

Each pack of Bead Barrettes® includes a barrette opener, which is similar in size and shape of a short pencil. Simply insert the pointed end of the opener into either end of the barrette and the barrette will pop open. If your barrette opener is not accessible, you can hold the barrette at the top and bottom using both hands and pull apart at the seam. We do not recommend using pencils or pens to open the barrette, as they may damage the teeth inside.

No, the use of a hair band is not required, but it is optional. For most braided or twisted hair styles, the teeth inside of the barrette are sufficient to "hook on" to the braided or twisted hair to keep the barrette secure. That said, if being applied to very fine hair you may find that using an elastic band along with Bead Barrettes® will provide you the extra-secure hold you are looking for.

Simply apply a small band (about 1 cm, or the diameter of a finger) to the desired spot on the braid or twist where you plan to apply the Bead Barrette. Then snap the barrette around the hair and band. The band stays hidden inside of the barrette, while offering the extra hold for fine hair or tiny braids. Using a band also allows for the barrette to be applied to loose/straight hair - not just braids and twists!

Bead Barrettes® are most popular among girls aged 3-6 who frequently wear their hair in braided hair styles. This group usually wears one Bead Barrette on the end of each braid to complete their style. Bead Barrettes are also very popular among older girls who wear braided extensions or single braids mixed with unbraided hair. In this case, they would typically apply a few Bead Barrettes® to the middle of their braided, twisted or loose/straight hair styles for a fun pop of color!

Bead Barrettes® are currently available in one size, which resembles a stack of 7 pony beads. They are the perfect size to snugly fit on the middle or ends of pencil sized braids.

Bead Barrettes® are available in popular colors white, pink clear, black, purple, blue and assorted colors. The assorted color pack includes 2-3 of each of the solid colors we offer. All barrettes are one solid color.

Unused Product Returns

Unused and unworn products may be returned if you contact us within 30 days of delivery. Products must be complete, in their original packaging, and in the same condition in which they were received.

Once your return is authorized, it must be mailed within 14 days. Please do not mail any product back before receiving return instructions.

Products You Have Tried

For health and hygiene reasons, we never restock or resell worn or used hair products. If you tried a product and are not satisfied, our Happiness Guarantee still applies. Email us within 30 days of delivery, and we’ll determine the appropriate refund, exchange, or replacement.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order when it arrives. If an item is damaged, defective, or incorrect, email us as soon as possible so we can make it right. If we require the product to be returned, Bead Barrettes® will provide return instructions and cover the return shipping cost.

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs when returning unused products due to personal preference or a change of mind. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable.

If an item is damaged, defective, or incorrect, Bead Barrettes® will cover any return shipping we require.

Products that have been tried are handled individually under our Happiness Guarantee.

Once your refund is approved, it will be issued to your original payment method within three business days. If a product is returned, the three-business-day period begins after we receive and inspect it.

Once the refund is issued, your bank or card provider may take up to 10 additional business days to post it to your account. Processing times vary by financial institution.
